Kingson Elendu is the Head of ESG/Sustainability & Traceability at Medplus Pharmacy, with over sixteen years of cross-sector experience integrating ESG principles into business strategy, managing environmental and social risks, and developing policies that align with global standards. He holds an MBA in Sustainability Management from Sustainability Management School (SUMAS) Gland, Switzerland.
Kingson’s notable achievements include: establishing and leading Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) for Medplus Pharmacy; leading the company to win the ‘Most Sustainable Retail Organisation’ at the 2023 Africa Retail Awards; managing ESG risks in the 13 Dangote Cement plants and Transport division in Africa; upgrading Dangote’s CDP Climate Change ratings from ‘C’ to ‘B’; pioneering the development of the first industry specialised sustainable waste management programme at the Lagos Business School (LBS).
He was part of the team behind the 2014 Sustainable Product Innovation project at Procter & Gamble (P&G) EMEA Headquarters, Switzerland, where he contributed to initiatives focused on reducing the carbon footprint of haircare products. His international exposure also includes work as a sustainability researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Development, Bangalore, India, where he contributed to the project Strategies for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Indian Cities.
