Pavel Kolesár leads the Event Centre at the Prague University of Economics and Business, one of Central Europe's leading business schools, where he is responsible for the institution's flagship conferences and signature events in economics, business and data. Working at the intersection of the event industry and academia, he designs experiences that strengthen the university's brand, advance its scientific and educational mission, and connect business, policy and research communities.
With more than a decade in event management, Pavel has delivered large-scale, high-profile events featuring guests such as the President of the European Parliament, government ministers, central bank governors, bank CEOs, presidential debate participants, Nobel Prize laureates and experts from international institutions — formats that demand flawless execution, diplomatic protocol and creative storytelling in equal measure. He also oversees major student-focused events and engagement initiatives that build lasting community and loyalty among thousands of students, blending experiential design with measurable long-term impact.
Beyond delivering events, Pavel also teaches a short course in event management at the university, sharing his industry expertise with the next generation of event professionals.
His perspective combines the strategic rigour of academia with the creativity of the live events industry, giving him a sharp eye for concepts that are both original and purposeful — a perspective he brings to evaluating outstanding work from around the world.
