Urooj Farhat is a ESG Assurance Lead in UAE & Director at KPMG Middle East, with over 17 years of experience in audit and sustainability assurance. She specializes in providing assurance over ESG disclosures and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in line with leading frameworks including ISSB, GRI, and ISAE 3000/3410. Urooj has worked extensively with listed companies, banks, and large multinational groups across sectors such as real estate, hospitality, logistics, energy, and financial services. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between financial and sustainability reporting, supporting organizations in enhancing transparency, credibility, and investor confidence.
She is a Global Council Member of ACCA and actively contributes to advancing the sustainability and assurance agenda across the region. Urooj is also a frequent speaker, panel moderator, and jury member at leading ESG and finance forums, where she shares insights on climate reporting, sustainable finance, and the evolving regulatory landscape in the UAE and globally.
